About WaMu >
For over one hundred years, WaMu has had a deep-rooted belief in what it takes to make a community strong and make people in that community smile.
We support neighborhoods in three important ways: through affordable housing loans, financial education and building community strength. That means helping families get into homes (and stay in them); teaching kids and adults to manage their money wisely; and investing in schools, neighborhood organizations and businesses to build communities today and well into the future.
Learn more about how we provide support to the communities around us. Read our 2007 Community Annual Report.
Affordable housing
WaMu helps provide affordable places to live through homeownership, renting and access to housing for families in our communities. Find out more about our affordable housing and community lending programs.
Financial education
We help people understand how money works, live within their means and create financial stability for themselves and their families. Find out more about our financial education programs.
Community strength
We create strong communities through K-12 education, civic, health and human services and neighborhood infrastructure development. WaMu employees also contribute thousands of hours of volunteer time and millions of dollars in donations to their communities each year through WaMu’s employee giving programs.
WaMu and you
WaMu gladly teams up with nonprofit organizations by investing in their efforts to support K-12 public education, financial education, affordable housing and community development. See our Grants Guidelines and Corporate Sponsorships for details.
