To start our online application, choose the description that fits your organization:

• 501(c)(3) with a grant request for $10,000 or less
• 501(c)(3) with a grant request for more than $10,000
• K–12 public school
• Government (local, state or federal) agency
• Tribal organizations that are classified as governmental entities for federal tax purposes
• Seeking a grant only in support of a sponsorship, event or table purchase

We understand you may be seeking a grant that fits into more than one of the above descriptions. Please select the description that best matches your request. For example, if you are a school or 501(c)(3) asking Washington Mutual to buy a table at your event, please select "Seeking a grant only in support of a sponsorship, event or table purchase."

When We Fund
We accept proposals on an ongoing basis. You will hear from us regarding the status of your proposal within 90 days. Incomplete requests will not be considered. We ask that you only submit one proposal per calendar year via an online grant application. No paper requests, please.

Grant Limitations
Washington Mutual does not provide grants to individuals or to organizations that:

• Are not tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, governmental entities, including public schools, or tribal organizations that are classified as governmental entities for federal tax purposes
• Discriminate for any reason, including race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation or national origin
• Are religious, unless the program or project to be funded fits into one of the specified focus areas and is for nonreligious purposes
• Are seeking funding for programs or projects that are outside the areas where Washington Mutual does business
• Are fiscal agents or fiscal sponsors
