Why? Because we're fast-paced and energetic and we place a high priority on employee success and satisfaction. Plus, we give customers what they want most: a friendly smile, fast service, and respect—all backed by knowledge and expertise.

The WaMu culture is centered on our core values: Fair, Caring, Human, Dynamic and Driven. These values are more than just words: they represent the type of employees we attract and retain. At WaMu, our employees and management work hard, but we also understand the value of a strong lifestyle balance. Our culture is very collaborative and, while we take our jobs and customers seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously.

That difference makes WaMu a great place to work and a great place to bank. It also helps us hold our own as the country's sixth largest financial institution.

If you share these values and seek a dash of fun in your work, look us up for a career in finance, marketing, operations,  consulting, product management or strategy.

"The chance to work in Strategy for a firm as unique as WaMu was hard to pass up. I love financial services, but WaMu is not your typical financial services company. Of course the fundamentals are there, being a successful bank requires as much, but the company's unique brand, incredible growth, customer-centric philosophy and entrepreneurial culture drew me in.

"The culture truly differentiates Washington Mutual – its incredible prospects for growth, the brand image and how the company's core values truly impact business decisions.

"Every weekend has been an adventure so far whether it's whale watching in the San Juan Islands or hiking in the Olympic National Park or checking out the great neighborhoods of Seattle. The most incredible part of living in Seattle is that I get to enjoy things that I used to do on vacations, but now I get to do it on a whim during the weekends."
