Home Loans (Taxes and Insurance)

How are my taxes paid?

If you have an escrow/impound account, Washington Mutual obtains your real estate tax amounts and pays the taxes as they become due. Tax payments are noted on your billing statement.

In certain areas, however, tax collectors do not release this information to lenders. If we need your assistance to obtain your tax bill, our tax service vendor will forward a letter to you requesting a copy. If you receive your tax bill and do not receive a letter from our tax service vendor, please keep the bill for your records.

To determine when Washington Mutual last paid your taxes and the amount paid, log on to Personal Online Banking to see your loan summary.
